About the game

Age of Defenders is an online tower defense strategy game where the players defend their main base by building the defensive towers and sending the attack forces to destroy the opponent’s main base. For more information read the manual.

Object of the game

Destroy the opponent’s main base before they destroy yours.

Lives

The main base has got 10 lives at the beginning and loses a life every time the unit crashes into it. It does not matter whether it is a heavy (a tank, a fractor) or light unit (a frogger, kamikaze).

Rydan

The raw material used for buying the units and towers in the game.

Population and population limit

Population limit determines how many buildings a player can build. Some population is given at the beginning of each battle depending on the map being played. To increase the population limit the player has to activate this option by clicking the button at the top right corner (as is shown in the picture). Each activation costs rydan and will increase the population by 20.

Rydan platform

It is used for building the rydan's mine where the rydan is mined. Rydan increases your income, and thus the possibility to spend. If the mine is destroyed, you cannot build at that place for the next 1,5 minutes.

Platform for factories

It is used for building the factories. The factory is producing your army. If the factory is destroyed, you cannot build at that place for the next 1,5 minutes.

High Ground

Defensive tower can be constructed on the high ground. Such a tower built on the uphill place gets a bonus range. The bonus expires when the tower is destroyed.

Bonus Place

Defensive tower can be constructed on the bonus place. The tower built on the bonus place will gain bonus of +650 hp . If the tower is destroyed, the bonus expires.

Middle bar

Divides the game map in half. The units are based there.

Constructing the buildings

Buildings are constructed by dragging and dropping. Some buildings can be constructed just in certain places, see the description above.

Nothing can be built on the place of a ruined defense tower.

After destroying the rydan's mine on the rydan's platform you can start building after 1,5 minutes.

After destroying the factory on the factory platform, the construction may be started after 1,5 minutes.

Upgrading and selling the buildings

Buildings are upgraded by clicking on Upgrade button. Each building can be upgraded by 3 additional levels. The building is functionless during the developing process (except for rydan mines). That means that the defensive tower will not shoot and factories will not produce units.

Buildings are sold by clicking on Sell button. The amount of returned rydan depends on the number of building's hp.

Attack

Plotting an attack path is initiated by clicking on the opponent's half of the game map. You set your first waypoint by clicking once and you can select a second waypoint by clicking twice. If you click on an opponent’s building it will cause the units to prioritize their advancement and attack on that particular building. Air and land paths are differentiated by colors (Red - Land / Blue - Air).

Units are deployed on the predetermined path by clicking their respective unit icon on the left side of the screen. Units will begin their attack from the middle bar in the center of the map.

Economy

At the beginning of a match, each player is given some rydan depending on the mission. It is necessary to build rydan mines to produce more.

Each rydan mine has a finite amount of rydan. After a mine is exhausted, it will continue to produce 4 rydan every 3 seconds.

Towers

Towers can be constructed anywhere on the map (except for rydan mine, that can be built just on the rydan platform).

Each tower can be upgraded to 3 additional levels.

Factories

Factories are used for producing the offensive units. The units will automatically start to be produced as soon as the factory is built.

Factories can be built only on platforms for the factory. Each factory can be improved at three additional levels.

Frogger upgrade – Speed

Improvements can be bought in the Upgrade Center. Each upgrade has two levels. Price for any upgrade equals to one upgrade point.

Upgrade points are gained for experience. Experience is gained by the damage that either offensive units or defense towers cause in the game.

Superweapons

Multiplayer
Zed 1085mm

Hits target location after 4 seconds, dealing 75 to 100 damage. Usable against units (deals 50% less dmg).

Instant Defense System

Absorbs 300 damage at target location. Lasts 10 seconds. NOT usable on units.

Single player - campaign
Zed 1645mm

Hits target location after 1.2 seconds, dealing 150 to 400 damage. Usable against units.

Instant Defense System 1.6

Absorbs damage at target location. Lasts 15 seconds. NOT usable on units.

Tactical Rydan Missile

Hits target location after 5.5 seconds, dealing 200 to 600 damage with large area of effect. Usable against units.

Settings

You can adjust the volume of sound and music in the game.
